“The proper words in the proper places are the true definition of style.”

“Oh, never mind the fashion. When one has a style of one’s own, it is always twenty times better.” – Margaret Oliphant
Look at that style! It is not easy to ride a bicycle in a dress. Margaret Oliphant was a Scottish writer from the mid-to-late 1800’s, who frequently used the name “Mrs. Oliphant” when writing.
“One cannot think well, love well, sleep well, if one has not dined well.”
-Virginia Woolf, from A Room of One’s Own
I came across this quote the other day and it really stuck with me – and no, not just because eating is one of my favorite hobbies (or “dining” shall I say). I really liked how short and simple it was. Virginia Woolf was one of the biggest modernist literary figures during the late 1800’s – 1940’s. Her accomplishments as a woman are really extraordinary, and look at her picture! I’m loving the hair do.
